Some common questions, answered


What if I’m not planning to return to Auckland or Christchurch once I’ve hired my camping equipment?

If you’re planning to tour New Zealand and leave from a city other than Auckland or Christchurch, you will need to make sure you drop off your hire package in one of these cities before you leave New Zealand. Alternatively, you can talk to us about arranging pick-up from a different location (additional charges will apply).

 

Can I cancel my order once I've booked?

Of course! You can cancel your order at any time. To cancel an order, simply email us with your booking reference number (issued when your booking is confirmed), but please be aware the following charges will need to be applied:

> 31 days or more before collection date: No charge

> 11-30 days before collection date: we may charge 25% of the total owing to your nominated credit card (most likely to be charged during peak holiday season)

> 5-10 days before collection date: we'll charge 50% of the total owing to your nominated credit card

> Less than 5 days before collection date: Sorry, we'll need to charge the full hireage amount to your nominated credit card.

 

Is it possible to hire just certain items and not a full package?

Well; it depends. If you’re only after a hiker stove, it won’t be worth your while! But if you need just a tent or a few sleeping bags, get in touch and we'll try to help you out. During busy periods, it’s likely we’ll be fully booked so do make sure you get in touch with us ahead of time.

 

What if I'd rather organise my equipment once I've arrived in New Zealand?

You can contact us once you've landed, but we highly recommend you make a booking before you arrive. This way, we can guarantee we'll have the package that best suits your needs ready for you upon arrival.

 

What if I’m not sure where I want my gear delivered when I arrive in Christchurch?

You can make an advance booking with us regardless; we just need to know where to deliver the gear 48 hours ahead of time.

 

How do I return my camping, tramping or mountain bike hire equipment package in Christchurch?

When you reach the end of your journey and arrive back in Christchurch, we can arrange collection – whether that’s from a hotel, hostel or car rental depot.

As with delivery, we need at least 48 hours advance notice of pickup address.

 

Is it possible to hire gear in Wellington, Queenstown, Rotorua, Dunedin or Nelson?

Unfortunately, not at this time. But things change, so drop us a line if you're thinking of hiring in any of these centres.
